· M13 Phage (Michael Blaber) Very useful background information about M13: its infection, replication, packing, cloning. If you are new to phage culture, it will be great beneficial to read this.
· (Roe Lab) After the M13RF containing bacterial cells are harvested by centrifugation, the double-stranded molecules are isolated using the cesium chloride method as for large scale plasmid isolation...
· Phage Miniprep An improved method for small scale prep. of bacteriophage DNA based on phage precipitation by zinc chloride.
· (Roe Lab) This isolation procedure is the method of choice for preparation of M13-based templates to be used in dye-terminator sequencing reactions.

· Figure-8 Test (Jim Brown) The figure-8 test is a test that identifies M13 clones that contain complementary sequences in their viral ssDNA. This occurs when the two clones contain the same region of DNA inserted in opposite orientations. This can be used to identify clones containing the same DNA fragment inserted in opposite directions, to identify clones containing nonidentical but overlapping complementary regions, or to find clones containing portions of DNA also found (complementary) in a larger clone.

· (Life Technologies) The protocols can be used to prepare ssDNA from DH5aF', DH5aF'IQ, DH11S, or DH12S cells.
