HOW TO PERFORM AN INTERRUPT OF AN ONGOING AUTOCOUNT 1). This program interrupts the ongoing autocount to allow the counting of a small number of vials- only one rack of vials. If you have more than one rack to count, think creatively and I'm sure you'll figure out how to count them all with the help of the interrupt function. 2.) HOW TO USE THE INTERRUPT FUNCTION: a). Load your samples onto a rack bearing the INTERRUPT card. Put the interrupt card in the frontmost card holder (left side). b.) Put your rack in with the other racks from the autocount. Place your rack near the front (the scintillation counter will find the interrupt rack no matter where you place it). c.) Press the yellow INTR button. You are presented with the following display printed on the paper where the counts are printed, and the editing light will go on: d). Most people will press -2- (INTERRUPT AUTO) and enter this by pressing the RETURN button, since most people will have a rack of samples to count rather than a single tube (-1-). e). Press blue USER NUMBER button (don't press the return button). The scintillation counter then displays the various numbers of the counting programs. f). Press the number of the desired program for counting the interrupt samples and press the STORE PROG button. g). Press MAN COUNT button. h). The machine will automatically count your tubes and will resume the previous Autocount after processing the last sample in the interrupt rack. Your counts will be printed out on a peice of paper separate from the previous autocount. i). Be absolutely certain when finished with the interrupt function that the previous autocount has been continued!!! j). More information about this function is found in the manual for the scintillation counter on page 4-2.
