The first edition of this workbook is regarded as a classic in its field, and was the first book to introduce trigger point therapy to the general public as a self-care tool for alleviating chronic pain caused by a variety of conditions, including arthritis, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, headache, muscle ache, and repetitive strain injuries. As the author makes clear, all such conditions are related to lack of oxygen in exhausted or injured muscle tissue. Trigger point therapy has been used for decades by doctors, pain specialists, and massage therapists to quickly stimulate the flow of oxygen and promote rapid pain reduction. This book makes the same techniques available to the general public with instructions that are easy to follow, and abetted by an extensive collection of charts and corresponding illustrations.
The author's interest in trigger point therapy began when he used it to successfully treat his frozen shoulder. Since that time, he has dedicated himself to teaching others the same techniques. That dedication is obvious throughout his writing and the care he takes to make the therapy understandable to the lay public. Also included in this new edition is updated information that should be of great interest to pain specialists and bodyworkers, as well as useful instruction in a variety of relaxation techniques. Overall, this book is an excellent self-care resource for anyone interested in pain relief.--Larry Trivieri Jr.
Trigger point therapy is a proven therapeutic technique used for the relief of soft-tissue and myofascial pain and muscle dysfunction, including pain from repetitive strain injuries, accident trauma, and sports injuries, as well as fibromyalgia and related conditions. Summary: Teaches You To Understand Your Pain

I was desperate to find a cure for my debilitating headaches/eye pain/neck aches/jaw pain. Years and years of doctors, dentists, chiropractors, therapists and prescription medications were never able to effectively help me. Hundreds of dollars I had spent; so when I found this $13 book, I figured "why not try it?" afterall, it cost less than a single co-pay.
It was in desperation that I stumbled across The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook while googling my pain symptoms. This book helped me understand the SOURCE of my pain. To have the WHY answered was just amazing. And, then the book taught me how to self treat my trigger points through simple massage.
I am so thankful to wake-up pain free.
Summary: Good resource.

If you have trouble with trigger points in your muscles and are looking for a good resource, then this is your book. Lots of explanations and pictures make it easier to work with than most texts on the topic. Those with shoulder problems might also be interested in Treat Your Own Rotator Cuff.
Summary: Good read but not very useful

The subject is very nicely described. The therapy as such was not very effective for me. It is one of those feel-good treatments if you are worried about facing surgery.
I recommend this book a try it might work for others.

Excellent book. This is the kind of book Americans need to start stocking up on. This is how we can take the sting out of our lack of health-care/insurance. Heal your own aches and pains for nothing but the cost of this book, and no financial-stability-trashing doctor bills!
Summary: Every athlete needs this

I am an aging (44yo) amateur cyclist/triathlete. Using this book I have solved many problems that seem to be skeletal, but are caused by muscle trigger points or knots. You can pay for a physical therapist or try to solve it yourself with this book. Invaluable.
